Downtown Modesto Ballpark
Modesto, California
Minor-League Ballpark
Building on Modesto's rich baseball heritage and fueled by its growing, diverse population, the city has a unique opportunity to create a regional asset that will benefit Stanislaus County for generations. Reflecting modern trends in stadium design, the new facility will serve as a premier baseball venue and a flexible, multi-use space capable of hosting various events that the county currently lacks.
The proposed ballpark will be strategically located at the southern end of the 10th Street corridor, in line with the City’s newly adopted Downtown Master Plan. It will anchor a "string of pearls," connecting key landmarks such as the Convention Center, 10th Street Place, the Gallo Center for the Arts, and Tuolumne River Regional Park. The ballpark’s design will feature a vibrant exterior façade with commercial and industrial storefronts, activating the neighborhood with ground-floor amenities like restaurants, bars, and retail spaces, while the upper floors offer opportunities for commercial offices and residential units, reinforcing downtown Modesto as a thriving live-work-play hub.
With a 5,000-seat capacity, the Downtown Modesto Ballpark offers an array of seating options organized into distinct neighborhoods around a 360° open concourse. The second-story structure behind home plate will house a club-level lounge, private suites, gameday suites, flexible party areas, and a 500-person ballroom, ensuring year-round versatility for events and programming.
The ballpark will be designed to meet the rigorous standards set by both MLB and USL, prioritizing player safety, player development facilities, and inclusivity for female staff.
